They day of an audition I always like to get up early and do some yoga before I start the day. The stretches release my muscles which then helps release my mind. If I have lines to learn I will go ahead and learn them, explore the character in thought and behavior and I go about my apartment discovering those transformations. I try to stay relaxed and focused. When and if I get nervous I use all that kinetic energy and re-channel it into my performance. That doesn't mean it always works but at least it adds another dimension
It is imperative to have a healthy/substantial meal or snack before any audition. I know I'll have the physical energy to sustain my performance and liveliness. I always give myself mini meditations every moment I can. That helps me get out of my head and puts less pressure on me to be perfect. Sometimes little quirks of awkwardness may reveal inner vivacity. Spending a lot of time alone helps me drown out all the outer nonsense of the world and helps me focus on developing my inner spirit. Knowing yourself and how you tick helps in the ability to develop a character truthfully, in time.
