Odiseas Georgiadis

Born in Ghana, West Africa, Odiseas started singing when he came to Booklyn, New York. With a thing for the Beatles, he injected an English-accent into all his lyrics before his tastes turned to the blues and tunes like Muddy Waters played in an endless loop in his head. The 16-year-0ld artist now says he’s come into his own sound—Neo Soul. Part funk, part folk with a dollop of rock, Odiseas says those early influences help shape his distinctive voice.

What the critic says:

Odiseas does a beautiful reading of I’m Yours. He takes a very relaxed approach to the melody and manages to make it his own. For a young singer he is posed and soulful. Expect big things from him. This approach would be a very good path for him to walk down as an artist—organic with just a touch of modern elements Odiseas’s original showcases has an interesting style—much older than his years. He reminds me of a young Seal, both vocally and artistically. This song isn’t something you’d hear on radio, but it definitely stamps Odiseas as an artist to be watched. His melodic approach is strong, but he could use some help lyrically and in his delivery. Artistically, Odiseas sits somewhere between Seal and Bruno Mars. But in an interesting way he could also walk the lines of Aloe Blacc. I’m giving him 4 out of 5 stars, but I’d bet that this time next year he will have grown into a 5.
